A final deadline extension gives founders across Australia and New Zealand a short window to apply for a live pitching slot at Stripe Tour Sydney on Aug. 19, 2026.

Organizers say they pushed the application cutoff to July 20 because of strong interest, and they won’t extend it again. Selected teams will take the stage in Sydney, where the top three acts will earn as much as $15,000 in Stripe fee credits and the overall winner will receive direct entry into Startup Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco this October — no extra submissions or qualifying rounds required.

The competition has a track record. Since the Australian edition launched in 2017, 26 former participants have gone on to raise a combined total of about $147 million and three have been acquired. Alumni have attracted capital from well-known backers, including Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, Blackbird Ventures, Square Peg Capital, Microsoft, AirTree Ventures, Startmate, Techstars and SOSV. For many founders, the first step was simply filling out the form.

This round targets early-stage companies across the region — from pre-seed teams to those approaching Series B — that already have a working product or clear traction and are preparing to grow. Organizers emphasize that household recognition isn’t required; they want ventures with ambitious plans and compelling narratives.

Beyond prizes, the event offers exposure: founders will present to investors, reporters, experienced local founders and potential clients or hires. A Sydney-based venture adviser interviewed for this coverage noted that the concentrated attention at a single live event can accelerate fundraising and recruiting timelines by months, sometimes longer, when a startup makes the right connections.

The extension buys a bit more time, but not much. Applications close at the end of the day July 20. There’s no fee to enter and no equity is taken from applicants. If you’re weighing whether to apply, the organizers say this is the last window — submit before the deadline.
