Ozlo Releases Sleepbuds 2 With Longer Battery, Stronger Bluetooth

Ozlo on Tuesday introduced Sleepbuds 2, a revamped version of its nighttime earbuds that boosts battery life, tightens wireless connections and upgrades sound. The new model will retail for $279, a $30 rise from the firm’s earlier entry-level price, and represents the startup’s first significant hardware refresh since it relaunched the Sleepbuds concept inherited from former Bose engineers.

For users, the most noticeable change will be battery performance. The buds now claim 14 hours of continuous use versus roughly 10 previously, and the charging case holds enough reserve for two to three nights of use. Ozlo added a tactile button to the case so sleepers can cue a sound or snooze an alarm without unlocking a phone — a small convenience that could matter to people who don’t want to fumble with their devices in the dark.

Ozlo said it reworked the wireless module to address earlier complaints about flaky Bluetooth, adding a redesigned antenna and an extender to widen range and speed pairing. The audio chain also received attention: an integrated amplifier boosts masking sounds and the app can now apply individualized tuning across modes such as Spoken Word, Airplane and Focus, as well as a Balanced setting.

The company expanded its sleep-tracking tools as well. The buds capture breathing and motion, while the case samples room noise, light and temperature, feeding a set of new sleep insights meant to show which conditions correlate with deeper rest. One industry analyst said the move toward richer environmental data “helps make sleep advice actionable” and could give users clearer next steps if patterns repeat night after night.

Ozlo’s origins remain tied to a team that worked on the original Sleepbuds at Bose: founders N.B. Patil, Brian Mulcahey and Charlie Taylor bought and licensed the research and intellectual property before launching the first Ozlo-branded buds in late 2024. That initial product attracted more than two hundred thousand customers by offering a low-profile fit, built-in sleep sounds, an in-ear alarm and passive noise reduction tailored to side sleepers.

To mark the new release, Ozlo is including a sleep mask and travel case with early purchases. The Sleepbuds 2 ship with four silicone tips, the charging case and a USB-C cable. Ozlo has also discussed plans to layer more software services on top of the hardware — including AI-driven analysis of sleep data and a conversational “sleep companion” — features the company says could arrive in future updates.
